When students are prompted to examine their tasks, over time they can recognize their persistence and growth in working toward specific quality criteria in their learning. Circle and Check provides a concrete means for students to notice by calling them to annotate or circle qualities that they see in their work and assignments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This routine invites students to form a habit of careful noticing. It may also provide a vehicle for students to begin an assignment or reflect on their learning after completing an assignment. Such reflections build self-efficacy and prompt goal setting for the student’s next steps.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
